Here we have a lovely, post “Banner” era 1956 Gibson LG-2! Original Three-tone sunburst is really bright and delivers all the character (not to mention projection/sound) of a 50’s era Gibson without the price tag. While this one has had some work done it still has plenty of life left and stories to tell! The neck has been resent, and the bridge (original) has been reglued). The back (mahogany) displays several cracks- one of which runs the entire length- but they have all been glued and are stable. The neck (a real chunk) is big but really comfortable in the hand. The back of the neck (as well as throughout the body) shows lots of checking and wear. The fingerboard is a very dark Brazilian rosewood. The x-braced top is very snappy and bright, and delivers a very dry-woody character.
