1966 Martin D-18

$6,250.00

1966 Martin D-18 in very ni e player-grade condition! The workhorse of Dreadnaughts, these excel for flat pickers because of their projection and round/woody tone. This old wood sounds really nice. Neck appear to have been reset years ago, and there is enough saddle left for downward adjustment, but action is quite low and comfortable as it is. Nut width= 1.69″ and neck profile is chunky with a definite soft “V” profile. Thickness at 1st fret=.87″ and at the 9th fret= .99″ so it has a pretty significant taper to it. Original Grover tuners. No cracks or holes repaired that we can detect. Likely refretted at least once in its life- and the replacements appear to be vintage spec and are very comfortable to play but do exhibit signs of wear. Replacement bridge pins and a replacement (compensated bone) saddle. Overall a very nice example and a way to get some Old wood without breaking the bank!
