1953 Harmony H-44

Here is a coveted (and somewhat rare) 1953 Harmony H-44. Also known as the “Peanut”, this example appears to be all original save for the tuners (the originals are included)! It does not appear any modifications were made for the replacement tuners. There is no serial #, we are identifying the production date via the original Centralab pots (pictured). All electronics are original, including the Hershey Bar pickup, and output is strong- it sounds incredible! This one (unlike most others we’ve seen) has poets that are tall enough that it can be played either fretted or slide- and as such action is set right in between- comfortable for both. The neck on this is a CHUNK! Scale length looks to be 25.25″This exact guitar was played/recorded by Marc Ribot on “High Above the Ground” (recorded here in Portland), also featuring Jose Medeles (of Revival Drum shop).
