1970 Martin D-28

$5,495.00

1970 Martin D-28 in very nice condition! This one is a real boomer, it’s strikingly loud and resonant. The spruce top shows very nice figuring. It’s had some work- the neck was reset (likely a long time ago) and it has been refretted. It is currently set up with very low action, and the neck is nice and straight so it’s easy to play (sometimes these make you feel like you are working for it!) Nut width is a standard 1.70″, and the neck exhibits a classic 70’s Martin profile, at the 1st fret thickness= .85″ and at 9th= .99″ so there is a good amount of taper. It’s worth noting that while the overall condition is quite nice (normal player wear throughout) at some point many years ago it was placed in the hardshell case with a strap that reacted with the finish. There is a section on the back (near the center) and along the side near the upper bout. The way this reaction presents its as if the grain is raised in those areas. Mostly unnoticeable unless you hold up in the correct lighting. And of course it presents no problems to function or sound.

-Includes a newer (90’s?) era Martin HSC with green lining
