1969 Gibson Les Paul Custom

$5,995.00

This 1969 Gibson Les Paul Custom has the MOJO and its priced right for the player! One could say it’s had a hard life, in spite of that it has an incredible character and will make someone VERY happy.

For starters, it’s all original old wood- with no routes. Refinished (likely many years ago), and a very good job that appears to be very thin nitro that has aged wonderfully. We can see in the body cavities that this was once likely red. Along with the refin, somebody got a little aggressive with the sanding on the back of the headstock. Not so much that you can’t still make out the original serial! And nowhere else are there any signs of aggressive sanding/reshaping. Long neck-tenon. No neck breaks- but there is a heel repair that is very old and stable. Tuners replaced with Grovers (hey- everyone did it in the 70’s). Refretted with slightly taller then vintage correct wire- so this does not play as a “fretless wonder” you might expect (and I’d consider that a good thing). Truss rod is functional. Neck profile is beefy but not huge- thickness at 1st fret= .91″ and at the 12th= 1.01″, nut width= 1.69″

Original ABR posts were professionally filled and redrilled. (When I received this someone had installed some import posts)

All hardware appears original. Extra strap button hole near neck pocket

Pickups are original PAT # Gibsons, sounding strong and warm. Bridge pickup output=7.9k, Neck pickup= 7.6k

Original Gold Gibson ABR with Nylon saddles

All pots appear to match (even tho it’s not possible to read the codes on all of them), date code on one that we can read is 137 68 (1968 CTS)

Weight= 9 lbs, 13oz

-Includes a 70’s era Gen 2 Gibson Chainsaw Case (1 latch not working)
