1965 Martin 00-21NY

$4,995.00

Here’s a very rare & special 1965 Martin 00-21NY that comes from a local player with a very rich history. This is a two-owner guitar, purchased in 1965 by the owner that brings it to us. This one has been loved & played (live!) for many years. Serviced regularly, it’s had a neck reset and a refret. The player utilized it in DADGAD tuning primarily, and as such it was set up with a wider saddle to accommodate the intonation for that. There was previously a pickup system in it- but there is a normal endpin currently installed and no other sign of those changes. Tuners were replaced (in the 70’s?) and the originals are not includes. Nut width=1.87″ and the fingerboard is likely Brazilian rosewood. The neck profile exhibits a soft “V”, thickness at the 1st fret= .88″ and at the 12th= 1.01″. There is a fair amount of player wear (down to the wood) in spots on the back of the neck. The back and sides on this are Brazilian Rosewood and show very nice figuring. There is one (old/stable) repaired crack on the top, just “south” of the bridge. And for the style of playing this was used for, an acrylic pickguard was added (which could likely be removed without much effort).

This is a lovely sounding and playing example with incredible character!
