1930’s Gibson ES-100

$3,495.00

1930’s Gibson ES-100 in original two-tone sunburst! Vibey/cool small body arch top from the golden-era of Gibson! This example appears to be all original, with a few minor repairs. The back has a (likely very old) repair which is stable and only visible if you look very closely, or under a blacklight. The Charlie Christian style pickup is original along with all electronics (which also appear to be original). Although there is an adjustable truss rod the action is nice and low and the neck sets up really straight. Nut width= 1.76″, and the profile is a very chunky “V” (common for this era). Thickness at the 1st fret=.98″ and at the 12th= 1.03″. There is a small area of repair to the top under the volume knob, where it appears a wood graft was made. It is stable/secure. Frets are very clean, which would lead us to believe they may be replacements. The case that is included (which is not original) has a “Property of The Black Crowes” and we are told this may have previously been owned by Chris Robinson- although there is no additional proof of this provenance. The previous owner indicates that he tried contacting  Chris to confirm with no luck. There are no other signs or evidence to prove this, although the previous owner states that the instrument did originally include a Black Crows backstage pass (not included).
