1985 Marshall Model 4001 Studio 15

Somewhat rare- and certainly considered an anomaly in the lineup with its 6V6 power tubes, this 1985 Marshall Model 4001 Studio 15 is in very clean and in completely original condition! All Tube and voiced (in our opinion) similarly to the JCM 800’s of the same era- loaded with a single 12″ Celestion G12 Vintage 30 (UK Made). The secret sauce lies in the “Mid” control, which dials in a surprising amount of extra gain. Original Drake transformers. Retubed with JJ’s in the power section and 12ax7’s for the preamp, pots cleaned up and it is running clean and surprisingly loud for its size. This could keep up with just about anything you can throw at it- and if you didn’t know there’s a pretty cool trick using the headphone jack on the back as an attenuator to make this useable at bedroom levels!
