Here is a very rare 1953 Fender Bassman, in its original 1 x 15″ combo format. The 5B6 circuit is one of the earliest Mass-production amps produced. This example retains little of its original Tweed- but all of the character! Rated at about 26-watts it’s surprisingly loud. Although it’s had some changes- the majority of it is original. The cabinet, chassis, and speaker (original Jensen P15N) are all correct. The baffle and grill are replacements via-Armadillo Amp works. When we originally received this, the baffle was in very rough shape and could not be saved. The handle is a new replacement. The transformers are original Triad. This has a newer power cord. Some work was done on the circuit (by local amp wizard Matt Dawson) to clean up some problems- but the goal was to retain as much of the originality as possible. The sound Is big and throaty- a lot of mid-punch for a Fender circuit. And it drives wonderfully when pushed! Own a real piece of Fender History!
