1955 White Instrument Co. FC-80

This 1955 White Instrument Co. FC-80 is a real piece of Fender History! Manufactured by Fender, using a Fender parts and a circuit- for Forrest White under his name. Rarely seen, and certainly less so in this originality/condition. The only non-original parts are the speaker (a Weber alnico) and a newer grounded AC cord. The circuit is straight 5F2-A Princeton, although comparing it to the Tweed sibling we have in house it sounds very different. Transformers are original (pictured) and the chassis is stamped with the same serial the tube chart indicates. Handle, grill, and cabinet are VERY clean and all original. No modifications. The back panels are also original, and the upper panel retains its original asbestos (inside) as seen on Fender amps from the same era. Pots are all original EIA dating to 1955. There is the trademark masking tape strip inside indicating this was built by “Lupe”. Works perfectly, and sounds great! A little more midrange character then we might normally expect for a Fender.
