Luca Benedetti Trio

Saturday, May 24th

Brooklyn-based guitarist Luca Benedetti (Hermine Deurloo & Steve Gadd, Jim Campilongo, Chris Lightcap) returns to Strum for a very special evening with his supercharged rhythm section featuring Tony Scherr (Bill Frisell ,Norah Jones, Sex Mob) on bass and Tony Mason (John Scofield, Adam Levy, Charlie Hunter) on drums.   If you had the good fortune of attending last year’s show or any of Tele-Master Jim Campilongo’s electrifying “4tet” performances over the past three years, then you’re already familiar with Luca’s “…great tone and tasty playing.” (Everyone Loves Guitar podcast).

The Trio has recorded two albums of original material, “We’ll Get There” (2019) and “Ride Awhile” (2023), and are excited to bring their groove and improv-based explorations of folk, blues, jazz and rock back to Strum.

A prominent fixture in the New York City music scene since the late ’90s, electric guitarist Luca Benedetti has worked alongside such varied artists and groups as Jim Campilongo, Hermine Deurloo & Steve Gadd, Ron Carter, and more.
